3D-4U and NEC have announced a strategic partnership to offer next-generation security products to enhance security and public safety capabilities at mega events. NEC is widely recognized as a leader in providing highly accurate video analytic tools that are in the security marketplace today. The goal of this partnership is to extend the video analytic capabilities of NEC tools to the high definition panoramic videos generated using 3D-4U technology.
3D-4U technology provides high definition panoramic video capture capabilities, and these panoramic images are stitched and transmitted in real time, which is extremely important for security solutions. In addition to this, multiple 3D-4U cameras capturing different areas of interest can be completely synchronized in time, providing a total recall mechanism for an event of interest. This provides a large amount of video data for analysis without the need of installing multiple PTZ cameras to cover all areas of interest, and diminishing the possibility of missing some sections.
The first prototype of this collaborative security solution between NEC and 3D-4U was demonstrated at the 83rd INTERPOL General Assembly Exhibition, which was held in Monaco from November 3rd to 7th, 2014.
